The Mrs Mills piano is a 1905 Steinway Vertegrand piano that was modified by Steinway to harden the hammers to achieve a sound similar to a tack piano. That’s a lot of piano variety! But for today, let’s take a look at the Mrs Mills Piano (and, no we didn’t omit the period on Mrs – that’s the way Spitfire writes it). ![]() I counted five pianos in the Orig!nals series, with three of them being unique, character pianos: Jeremiah Fraites’ (of The Lumineers) Firewood Piano, Abbey Road’s Challen piano (titled Jangle Box Piano), and Abbey Road’s Mrs Mills Piano. Their Orig!nals series is directed at beginning composers with a price point of £29 / $29 / €29, but the quality is excellent. Spitfire Audio has over time released a wide selection of material for professional media composers. ![]()
